Pond reflection - Bugaboo Glacier
Creativity/Tech Tips: A very subtle sunrise helped create the painterly effect of this scene. A lot of good imagery comes from simply being at the right place at the right time. This image has been hyperfocally focused in order to maintain sharpness throughout. Here's the general rule of thumb (this does not apply to macro imagery): Focus the lens on the foreground subject, then on the background. Back the lens focus up about halfway toward the first point you originally focused on.. Use a strong depth of field (f16-f22 with 35mm cameras) and make the image. It will appear through your viewfinder that both the foreground and background are out of focus. They are, as you see the image with a wide open aperture in your camera, but when the lens uses the greater depth of field when the image is taken, the results should be pleasing. Also try viewing focus with your depth of field preview switch on your camera if you have one. This will give you a good approximation of where your focus lies within your aperture choice range.
